Finland’s third largest mobile operator DNA announced that it will be the first in the country to introduce voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) technology across its nationwide 4G LTE network. The operator also announced an upgrade to its existing mobile network to support voice-over-WiFi (VoWiFi) technology. The deployments are being made available to pilot customers this spring.
DNA’s 4G network currently only offer data whilst all calls are transmitted across 2G and 3G networks.
‘We will be testing these new technologies with our customers during the spring, and will then gradually make the technologies available to all our 4G mobile communication subscribers’, announced DNA’s Mika Husso.
