At the 42nd AGM of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani today announced the commercial launch of long awaited Reliance Jio 4G.
Mr. Ambani dedicated his company’s most ambitious venture to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, and emphasised on affordability of data.
Reliance Jio has taken the industry by storm by offering free voice calls, low data usage charges, lucrative schemes for students, and affordable 4G smartphones.
“We start from Rs 19 per day data plan for the occasional data user. Then there is a Rs 149 monthly plan for the light data user. The data plan for the heaviest user goes up to Rs 4,999 per month,” Ambani said. He also announced personal Jio-fi dongles, new 4G LTE handsets among other things.
Ambani said in his statement: “Jio is an entire ecosystem that will allow Indians to live Digital Life to the fullest. The Jio ecosystem stands tall on FIVE fundamental pillars: 1.
