India’s newest 4G mobile network operator, Reliance Jio has crossed the 50 million subscriber mark by 1 December.

Jio achieved this milestone in less than three months after its full-fledged 4G services launch to emerge as the largest broadband operator in the country. According to sources, Reliance Jio — setting a new record — has acquired 1,000 customers per minute (since September 05) and 600,000 per day.

“Jio continues to be the fastest growing technology company in the world and has crossed 50 million subscribers in record 83 days,” Jio claimed.

Jio has also announced that its disruptive ‘Welcome Offer’, which allows customers free unlimited voice and data services until 31 December 2016, will effectively be extended until the end of March 2017. The operator introduced a ‘Happy New Year Offer’, under which customers that sign up to Jio 4G services by 4 March 2017 will have access to free unlimited services until 31 March 2017.
