Reliance Jio Infocomm plans to launch its 4G LTE commercial operations in the second half of 2016. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Jio parent Reliance Industries, told reporters that the company plans to go live with a network coverage of 80% of the population. The Greenfield player intends to expand its 4G network to 90% in 2017 and achieve full coverage by 2018.
Reliance Jio Infocomm is in the process of starting its 4G services for commercial purposes. It made a soft launch in December last year for its employees and partners. It has now been more than five and a half years since the company bid for and won a pan-India wireless broadband license.
Earlier this year, Reliance Jio Infocomm launched its Jionet Wifi services for the users at MG Road in Vijayawada and at Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport located in Andal, Durgapur subdivision, West Bengal.
