Telecommunication operator Smartfren said it is setting a $100 million capital expenditure for LTE expansion this year.
Antony Susilo, finance director of Smartfren, said that the investment over the next 12 months would be to develop and strengthen Smartfren’s 200 LTE spots across the country.
“The funds will be from an undisbursed existing loan from China Development Bank (CDB),” Antony said.
The operator has successfully upgrading its CDMA network to 4G LTE. However, the operator will be running its CDMA system at least for this year.
