Tele2 has launched LTE networks in the Kaliningrad, Kostroma and Tomsk regions. High-speed wireless Internet in 4G standard is already available in 47 constituent territories of Russia. By the end of 2017, Tele2 is planning to bring the number of regions with LTE services up to 50.
In the Kaliningrad region, the network covers 88% population; the figures total 78% and 70% respectively, in the Kostroma and Tomsk regions.
LTE networks in Kaliningrad and Kostroma are operational in the 1,800 MHz spectrum band, which provides wide coverage and high data speed. The 4G network in Tomsk is operating in two ranges – 800 MHz and 1800 MHz. When rolling out LTE networks, the operator has used modern equipment by Nokia.
LTE services from the operator are currently available in 47 regions across the country;Tele2 Russia plans to raise the number to 50 regions by the end of the year. The operator has already rolled out and launched LTE networks in 22 regions this year.
