Telia Company has launched VoLTE, for its private customers in Sweden.
Telia said in a statement that the new technology will allow users to browse on their mobile phones while at the same time make and receive high-quality voice calls over the 4G network. Customers will also experience benefits such as improved coverage and faster call connection.
Until now, Telia Sweden was only offering data services over its 4G network while voice calls were offered using 3G or 2G.
“We are constantly working to improve and develop the mobile networks in Sweden and to increase the customer experience. We already have a world class mobile network and VoLTE is the next step to enable communication on our customer’s conditions,” said Jonas Hasselberg, head of Telia’s consumer business in Sweden.
Initially, the new service is available for users with models from Sony, Samsung and Huawei. The service will soon also be rolled out to users who have the latest phone models from other major manufacturers.
The rollout of VoLTE to Telia’s enterprise customers in Sweden is planned for May.
