Tigo Paraguay to launch its 4G LTE on April 7

Tigo Paraguay is planning to go live with its 4G LTE network on 7 April, serving 24 cities at launch. Anibal Corina, a company official, said in an interview with La Nacion: the network will go live in the following locations: Asuncion, Capiata, Lambare, Fernando de la Mora, Luque, Mariano Roque Alonso, Nemby, San Lorenzo, Villa Elisa, Caacupe, San Bernardino, Ciudad del Este, Hernandarias, President Franco, Santa Rita, Salto del Guaira, Encarnacion, Pedro Juan Caballero, Concepcion, San Estanislao, Caaguazu, Coronel Oviedo, Villarrica and Pilar. The operator plans its 4G LTE to achieve 40% population coverage by the end of 2016, growing to 66% by 2020.

The other telco in the market, Claro, is expected to launch its 4G LTE network by August 2016.
