Verizon expands XLTE footprint to 466 markets; adds 13 new markets in Q1 2016

Verizon Wireless has expanded the reach of its ‘XLTE’ technology to 13 new markets in Q1.

Verizon’s XLTE is now available in 466 markets. The service has now been extended to Alpena, Ironwood and Petoskey (all Michigan), Lewiston-Auburn and Waterville/Augusta (both Maine), McCook (Nebraska), Oneonta (New York), Pottsville-Frackville (Pennsylvania), Roseburg (Oregon), Tupelo-Corinth and Vicksburg (Mississippi), Victoria (Texas) and Wausau/Rhinelander (Wisconsin).

XLTE aggregates 700MHz 4G spectrum with 2100MHz/1700MHz advanced wireless services (AWS) frequencies, and effectively doubles the available bandwidth in those areas covered.
